What is Chapter 7 Bankruptcy?

Chapter 7, also known as liquidation, is generally the simplest and quickest form of bankruptcy. In a Chapter 7, a court-appointed trustee gathers and sells your non-exempt property and uses the proceeds to pay your creditors.

Once your creditors are paid any available liquidation proceeds, the remainder of your dischargeable debt is discharged. However, there are certain debts, such as most tax debt, student loans and child support, that cannot be eliminated.

Eligibility for Chapter 7

At your free consultation, we will listen as you tell us about your financial situation and concerns, and we offer practical answers to your questions. We also provide you with an eligibility and intake form to complete at home.

We will examine your eligibility to file Chapter 7 under the means test. If you are not eligible, we will look into other options, such as Chapter 13, or bankruptcy alternatives.

If you retain our services, your Chapter 7 case will be handled exclusively by our experienced attorney. You will not be handed off to support staff.
